The northwards sloping hillside that is surrounded by an abundance of apple trees gave an exciting starting position for the single-family house. The concept was based on careful observations of the influences, qualities and specific features of site picturesquely located above Feldkirch. They were then concentrated above a reduced semi-floor so that each space – each function – together with the assigned references to altitude, orientation, view, spread and lightning atmosphere - gives a direct response to the analysis of the abovementioned site features. The concrete construction of the interiors was left visible, it was enhanced with smooth surface and warm colours implants. The „tree house“ creates the intimate upper closure of the complex space sequence with a view of the Swiss mountains panorama. (In collaboration with DI Hein, Photos: Robert Fessler)
