THE PROJECT AND THE SITE
THE BUILDINGS ARE NORTH-SOUTH ORIENTATED, THEY ARE PERPENDICULAR TO THE CONTOUR LEVEL LINES AND TO THE STREET. THEY ARE MADE BY TWO ELEMENTS - 6 METERS WIDTH - SHIFTED LONGITUDINALLY. THIS MOVEMENT GIVES DYNAMICITY AND LIGHTNESS TO THE GENERAL LAYOUT AND AT THE SAME TIME FITS BETTER TO THE SITE AND ITS PARTICULAR GEOMETRY AND TOPOGRAPHY, AS WELL AS TO THE MANDATORY 5 METERS SET BACK FROM THE STREET.
THE PROJECT AND THE MOUNTAIN
VERTICAL CONCRETE WALLS, WHILE SHELTER THE LOFTS, ESTABLISH A DIALOG OF BALANCE WITH THE MOUNTAIN OF CAMACHO. THEY SET SMOOTHLY IN THE EXISTING LANDSCAPE DIFFERENTIATING THEMSELVES FROM THE URBAN SKYLINE. THEIR VERTICALITY RELATES TO THE STEEPED SLOPES, THEIR TECTONIC MATERIALITY EVOKES THE ROCK-FACE OF THE MOUNTAIN.
VIEW - LIGHT – PRIVACY
ONE OF THE MAIN CONCERNS OF THE PROJECT IS TO CREATE SPACES THAT CAN ENJOY THE VIEW, HAVE AN OPTIMUM NATURAL LIGHT AND KEEP AT THE SAME TIME AN HIGH LEVEL OF PRIVACY. THE IDEA OF THE PROJECT TO SHIFT THE LONGITUDINAL CONCRETE WALL RESPONDS TO THIS OBJECTIVE. THE BUILDING OPENS ITSELF TO THE LIGHT AND TO THE PANORAMIC VIEW PRESERVING AT THE SAME TIME THE PRIVACY OF THE INTERIOR SPACE FROM THE BUILDING BESIDE.
THE LOFT SPACE
THE LOFT SPACE CONSISTS IN ONE OPEN SPACE FREE OF WALLS AND EQUIPMENT. THE EQUIPMENT AND SERVICE SPACES AS THE KITCHEN, TOILETTE, WARDROBE, SHELVES, ARE LOCATED IN VOLUMES SET UP LONGITUDINALLY TO THE OPEN SPACE.
A CURTAIN SLIDING FILTER, COMING DOWN FROM THE CEILING, GUARANTIES THE DIVISION OF THE TWO SPACES.
