Procession to MysteryThe Roman-Catholic-Ordinance turns more to the Community, the Shrine is still in the central area. For
Byzantine ordinance holds the same paradigm but there is something more typical for the Greek-catholic-community - the hierarchical composition of the space. Orthodox or Greek-catholic churches don't change their form so quickly. The project is about bringing new potential into the conservative form. The Greek-catholic Exarchate stays in front a difficult
mission: to adapt the east-tradition and ideas for the west-society and save his face and principles.
All ways in Byzantine-ordinance are going in one line to the Mystery, an Altar is the main point. The orientation on east side is exactly determined. The place on the Moravia-suburban district with panel buildings in surrounding deserves a magnificent gesture. It has to be showed sacredness of this place in the middle of urban development.
I create the imaginary line by 20 meter wide belt of concerete paving, blocks and grass, gravel, water, avenue of trees. It is in contrast to the park. Here rises the meditative space for the contemplation, for the pilgrims. The space for procession ends in the presbytorium where is the Mysterium Fidei – Mystery of Faith. The pilgrimage culminates through the offer on the Altar.
Symbology is also expressed through the other elements. The pilgrim who goes
from West to East is going through gateway (portal – tower) at first. The tower is as high as the panel buildings in the surrounding like a stand-uped finger. The line continuous through the facade of the church and its roof. Above presbyterium is a big skylight. The highest and the lightest place shows the main point.
Iconostas provides intimacy for Sacrament. It seems to be difficult to get closer to the light. The form of church also includes traditional forms (saddle roof, vitraj, basilical system). Under church itself is the community-centre, illuminated by light from a lateral body.
