Grande Terre is a sleek and contemporary home in Jackson Hole, WY designed to capture stunning vistas of the Teton Range and the meandering Snake River. Strategically nestled into an existing natural slope, Farmer Payne Architects crafted an improvised split-level design that expands into the site, creating volume, while the building form responds to the sloping landscape, resulting in elegant cascading staircases and expansive windows.
Confronting challenges posed by the unstable loess soil, we delved deep into the terrain to establish a robust pier foundation, ensuring structural integrity. With cedar cladding, large Loewen windows, and high ceilings, the home boasts an abundance of natural light and a warm interior atmosphere.
