With Evan Mann Architect
The Gramercy Park Residence in Manhattan started with a brief from the owners to create a flexible and large entertaining space in an apartment that was previously defined by small rooms and tight spaces, while also keeping as many large walls intact to display large format photographs and paintings in natural light. By combining the previous master bedroom suite and the previous living room area into one space, we allowed for an expanded kitchen, a generous second bath, and space filled with northern light for the family to relax and entertain. The palette of materials was developed in connection with a strong aesthetic line that runs through the owner’s art collection, with blacks, whites and tones of wood, gold, and yellow running throughout.
