The project is based on the construction of the clubhouse for La Graiera golf club, an 18-hole golf course anda pitch & putt course in a bow-shaped lot with an eastwestfacing slope. The building is situated on the widestpart of the site and its design achieves the best viewsand orientation. Two impressive curved walls form the basic structureof the architectural volume. These meet in the entranceof the building forming the hall and are organizedaround the cylindrical volume of the staircase. Theyalso enclose and arrange the various program activitieson three levels on both sides of the hall: the first floorhouses the social spaces, bar, restaurant, lounge, shopand offices; the basement houses the dressing rooms, storage and a garage for golf carts, and finally, the rooffor use in summer, with a chill out candle-lit terrace-bar.The tower that houses the staircase provides the buildingwith a unique feature. The use of stone, concrete, corten steel and wood establishesa relationship between the material, color and thesetting. The garden extends from the outdoor terraces onthe first floor level, with the lounge areas. Plant speciesthat need little water and the incorporation of a traditionaldry stone shepherd’s hut that already existed on thesite contribute to the garden. The program comes completewith two parking lots: one to the back of the building, with one reserved for loading and unloading, andanother across the cobblestone street and green spacesthat provides access to the clubhouse. Other ring roadsand paths were designed connecting the area with thedifferent areas of the golf course.
