Gokoku is a Japanese restaurant that opened in Dalian, China. It has the total floor space of 898(sq) with two floors combined. Gold-colored aluminum plates are arranged like louver board. With LED’s underneath, the backlight illuminates the louvered plates, creating streaks of gentle golden rays surrounding the building. The bottom part is made from granite.
The 2nd floor holds an open kitchen, a glass fish tank for fresh seafood preserve,
and an open area for the tables. The tapestry-like wall lights were inspired by the image of a sail of a ship. You will also find the original pendant lights made with Japanese craft paper gently illuminating the hall. The left zone of the 1st floor is the Japanese-style private dining rooms, where the guests enjoy the view of an inner courtyard with an illuminated waterfall. In the right zone , you will be fine the Executive Zone, where executive dining rooms are arranged around a Japanese garden.
The walls with gold aluminum and mirror-finish gold stainless steel are lit from above with gradational lighting. The garden is lit with a light custom-made with acrylic and Japanese craft paper. The illumination from the light accentuates the quiet presence of a bamboo grove. The building is divided into three zones. The design of each zone was based upon sunshine filtering through foliage and soft light, both of which well characterize Japanese culture.
