The 6-story building, designed for God’s Love We Deliver, a non-profit organization that provides nutritious meals for those who are too sick to shop or cook for themselves, is a major expansion project with a 5,000 square feet commercial kitchen on the 2nd floor, which will allow God’s Love to better carry out its mission. The building also includes a rooftop garden, where vegetables will be grown for the food that the non-profit organization plans to serve, a lobby with a working herb garden, a volunteer lounge with an outdoor terrace, a loading dock, food storage systems, waste management systems, a conference center and multipurpose floor, general office space, filing rooms, restrooms, a laundry room, pantries, a maintenance shop and storage rooms. This project is currently targeting a LEED Silver certification. GKV Architects is also serving as the project’s LEED consultant.
