This project was an exciting one from inception through to completion due to the structure being made completely from glass. Our clients came to CUBE architecture with the idea of wanting a ‘glass cube’ as an area that was joined to the existing house. The thinking behind the location, and subsequent design, is that the enclosed glass structure would be an area that our clients can sit comfortably in the cool of the evening when the sun has moved from this area of the garden, however being enclosed in glass, could still feel as if they are sitting outdoors. This project saw close working relationships with a Structural Engineer, as well as a glass installation company who specialise in this type of work.
