The renovation of this 1926 movie palace, listed on the National Register of Historic Places, was completed in late 2006. Conrad Schmitt Studios, who has been involved with numerous restoration projects, including Union Station in St. Louis, performed a color study of the theater and then produced a sample panel. The Gillioz is a multi-purpose community theater and assembly hall. New HVAC, theatrical lighting and acoustical systems were carefully integrated into the restored original decor and ornamentation in order to make this transformation successful.
