Aesthetically and structurally reminiscent of a sheet ghost, this small pavilion made out of frozen curtains is basically just a thin outer layer with an empty core.
To achieve this type of structure we had to wait for the temperature to drop way below freezing.
Then we needed a good mold to give shape to the house and that could easily disappear when the curtains had frozen into place.
On the site we found a somewhat broken playhouse and two foldable tables that we stacked on top of each other and temporarily tied together with cable ties.
Then we tied together fifteen extra-long curtains in one end and soaked them in ice-cold water in a nearby lake since we didn't have any other access to water on the site.
We took the big wet bundle and placed it on top of the playhouse mold and adjusted the curtains to a preferred setting.
It almost immediately turned rigid, but to ensure the structural stability of the house we decided to spray it with water a couple of times before removing the foldable tables and the playhouse, which we took apart so each flat part could fit through the entrance.
What remains is just the curtains with the icy crust which will hopefully stand for a couple of weeks until the thaw makes the house fall to the ground.
