George’s At the Cove is the quintessential San Diego seaside restaurant with a rich history and exemplary reputation. Using local geography as our palette, Tecture transformed the interior space as a natural extension of the surrounding landscape; embodying and emphasizing the tranquility of the beach, and pulling cues from the land, sea, and sky. Porous concrete light fixtures paired with a white quartz bar top and dining tables offer a cool, calm ambiance at play with warm and vibrant bronze toned mirrors and inverted Torrey Pine slab tables.
Embellishment of the strong lines in the wood ceiling system draws attention outward towards the ocean, as if framing and further encompassing the already-compelling views. Comfort, variety, function, and a touch of elegance team together to cater to the user experience and revive an inimitably iconic restaurant.
