Performing arts have been an integral part of Chadwick School’s curriculum since its founding in 1935. However, by 2000, a new facility was required to accommodate the school’s expanding music and theater arts programs. To meet this challenge, Parallax designed a highly flexible building that allows many types of events to occur simultaneously. The new Laverty Center provides a 400-seat auditorium, an intimate black box theater, studios for music and dance instruction, and a generous lobby space that extends out to landscaped terraces.
