Designed by Accent Design Group, their first prize winning design for a Mixed-Use building competition is located at the very heart of gemmayze district in Beirut , the narrow site is embedded within the exisiting urban fabric. At the back side it offers a view towards the sea at the upper floors.
The Client’s brief required 36 units of simplexes and duplexes, a penthouse, offices, retail on the ground and mezzanine levels and 6 levels of underground basement. The units range from 90 to 130 sqm and the penthouse covers 1000 sqm, with its private roof terrace and swimming pool. The office spaces range from 60 to 130 sqm.
This project attempts to translate the typological richness of gemmayze into a playful volumetric composition, allowing different scales of apartments to come together and re-define a residential building that avoids the normative banality of contemporary commercial architecture.
