The site of the new community center is located in a sensitive inner-city environment in the center of Versmold, which is characterized in particular by St. Peter's Church, the church square, and the listed cantor's house. Against this backdrop, a building was proposed that reflects the grain of the immediate surroundings and fits into the location in terms of scale without hiding its contemporary character. This is manifested most notably in the folded roof landscape that covers the new building.
The new parish hall is divided into two structures connected by a two-story foyer. The southern structure, which houses the parish hall, is set back from the street. This creates a small square that serves as a forecourt to the parish hall and provides space for outdoor events organized by the parish.
The continuous roof landscape allows the youth café on the upper floor to be spatially connected to the foyer. This creates an interior space full of exciting visual connections and a high experiential value. For the exterior walls of the building, a double-shell masonry construction with white clinker bricks as the outer shell is proposed, which blends harmoniously into the surroundings in terms of color.
