The Global Eco Machine or GEM is a transportation and market exchange hub in the year 2058. The edge of all the world’s megacities will be repurposed to house GEMs of their own, these new industrial hubs become neighborhoods in a globally networked city where there is no more distinction between the local and global community. GEM Square hub at Jersey City is a 800 ft. tall stacked city that will offer the visitors and the residents amenities like personal and group office space, residential space, a CO2 exchange casino, sky forest and hotel, and a spa. GEM is a self sufficient machine that produces its own energy and process its own water through bio-engineer technology embedded on the building skin and structure. This new venue also quadruples the ground surface by stacking ground terraces that offer the intangible qualities of the street and at the same time afford the opportunity for unique public and private experiences to unfold.
