Drawing upon the simple
yet elegant concept of a twisting rectangle, Tronic designed an eye-popping
pavilion for GE to be displayed at the 2008 Olympic games in Beijing.
The pavilion's iconic shape was derived from twisting a two dimensional
rectangle into a three dimensional spiral, allowing patrons to explore
the structure simultaneously from the inside out. Composed almost entirely
of Texlon, a durable, light, and energy efficient material which could
be recycled or rebuilt in another location with relative ease after
the games. Housing a system of screens, the pavilion would have been
an experiential media driven experience, taking patrons on a virtual
tour of GE's global involvement in the world.Click to see more: GE Pavilion: Beijing 2008
