The old structure, of traditional construction (Swiss-Italian), mainly supported by wood and dry stone walls; initially used for the storage of pasture and livestock, it was preserved in part in the power of attorney not to damage the adjacent walls with the neighborhood. The emptying of the entire structure and the conditioning of the aesthetic conservation regulations in force, have forced us to provide for the lowering and reinforcement of the basment and the articulation of the interior spaces based on the distinction of functions between the main ones from the secondary ones. In this way the half heights give the object a sense of vertical spatial continuity, the exhaustive use of parametric concessions and the adoption of construction techniques atypical for the context, but in keeping with the requirements of the program and the conditions of the settlement of impossible accessibility by heavy vehicles.
Sunny and windy, at the foot of the Morobbia valley, the site facing south requires the adoption of a ventilated cavity. The wooden casing, with pivoting slats, absolutely shields and regularizes the glass panels which at the same time differently denote the irregular pattern of the internal habitable levels.
The west side, with a smaller surface area, houses the equipped spaces (technical room, bathroom and kitchen) while the living and leisure areas enjoy greater amplitude (garage, stairwell, hall, corridor, living room and bedroom).
