Food and Drink Open Air Gawa is a temporary project situated between Gasometro and the Ponte della Scienza on the banks of the Tiber river in the neighbourhood of Ostiense, Rome.

The surrounding area has been a big influence in defining the style of the project, which is intended to set out a space for leisure time in the context of the otherwise frenetic pace of the city.

The idea of the project is very simple: three parallelpipeds intersect one another, each with a different function. The main one, parallel to the street, is intended as the centre of operations, as well as a kitchen serving up food and drinks to go. The second one, which is perpendicular to the street, is equipped with platforms that lead the visitor to discover the gardens at the back that face directly onto the Tiber.

In particular, a raised a terrace fitted with comfortable sofas and screened off with nautical ropes, offers a breathtaking view of the sunset over the city.

All of the furnishings, from the dining tables to the lamps hanging from the river railings, are designed by StudioTamat.
