Adapting the formal, spatial, and social characteristics of a table surrounded by chairs, this temporary pavilion produces multiple scales of interaction through its daily use, and it creates a scenographic setting for musical and theatrical performance.
The pavilion evokes scenes of familiar, creative, and intellectual exchange that often occur around a table. The structure is composed of eight abstracted chairs that measure 16’ in height, 4’ in width, and 8’ in length, and they are grouped around a 20’ diameter stage. The pavilion is simultaneously sculptural and spatial, allowing users to occupy and interact with it in various and unexpected ways.
