This major renovation includes major structural repairs, upgrades to all systems, increased thermal performance and sleek, modern and updated interiors. Previously, the 1500 sq.ft., 100-year old fully detached home in a beautiful residential Toronto neighbourhood was leaky and drafty, with a cramped layout and exorbitant heating and hydro bills. Our clients decided to hold off on any renovations until they could afford a complete, top-to-bottom renovation. Five years after moving in, the renovation began. The installation of closed-cell, water-based foam, onto the inside face of the load-bearing brick structure and roof created an air-tight structure, more than quadrupling pre-renovation insulation levels. A new high-efficiency boiler heats water for both domestic use and heating, and a clever design creates a more open, usable space for the family to enjoy.
