The existing façade of this eighteenth-century Renaissance Castle has been maintained with a minimum of reworking. Keeping only the strong, imperialistic façade-elements, with a reworked interior that is transformed into light-embedded minimalistic spaces. When entering this castle you are welcomed into a vast space with a marvellous view over the nearby lake and the small forest on the grounds. The actual gallery is located on the upper floor. The visitor is led here by a contemporary version of the classical monumental staircase. A long and easy flow through the house and across the garden creates views and vistas of nature that reinforce the grand impression of the generous interior spaces. The design goal was to protect the fantastic imperialistic and historic style and to implement modern interpretations of classical archetypes.
