The first exhibition to be hosted by the new Disseny Hub Barcelona (DHUB), «Tourism. Fiction Spaces», set out to analyse the relationship between design and desire, industry and consumption. The exhibition was designed to take full advantage of new technologies. On arrival, visitors were given a tablet PC with information on the various exhibits, enabling them to customise their itinerary to measure, depending on their interests. The exhibition was divided into eight areas, managed by eight curators under the direction of Ramon Prat. "Futures", curated by Mario Ballesteros and Irene Hwang, was the closing section of the exhibition, and featured the work of over 30 architecture and design firms, artists, and students, speculating on future possibilities for design and tourism.
