Singapore’s largest interactive digital playground, Future World: Where Art Meets Science is a new permanent exhibition at the ArtScience Museum at Marina Bay Sands. A fully immersive digital universe featuring 16 digital art installations by Japanese multidisciplinary art collective teamLab that expresses the museum’s mission of exploring the correlation between art, science, technology and culture.
The exhibition space is built with a narrative that brings visitors through a journey of discovery of four key themes: Nature, Town, Park and Space. The interactive installations allow people to become an intrinsic part of the artworks, which are brought to life and evolve in real-time.
To enhance the artists’ concept of interactive art, the exhibition design focuses on the rhythm of viewers’ experience by engaging their different senses and movements in physical space. New forms of exhibition behaviors are created through play and contemplation. A cushioned platform encourages visitors to lie down at the 100 Years Sea Animation Diorama, gradually immersed in the rising sea level, while a slide and tunnel leads playfully into the Town-themed kids’ attractions.
Breaking away from traditional exhibition viewing experience, the exhibition design allows visitors to truly reflect upon their relation with the natural world, other people and the universe along their journey of discovery.
