This comprehensive design studio project was given to me the first semester of my senior year. I was an off site addition to the Boston Public Library and was the first project where we had to to design a fully operational building. To simplify my design process, my original concept of 'Appreciation of Light' transformed into 'Functional Tone' where different areas of the library composed of public and private zones, would have differentiating lighting aspects. Warmer colors for zones of higher activity I.E. community rooms, and cooler for private less activity areas, I.E. private study areas. The panels would inherently shape the inside while also using the the same application of the functional tone to relate on the exterior skin of the building.
