The Fuhr Science Center renovation and expansion introduces a transformative 14,500-square-foot, two-story addition to an existing 32,600-square-foot research facility. The new design incorporates cutting-edge features such as a state-of-the-art anatomy laboratory, fully renovated research laboratories, and upgraded support spaces, including two dissection amphitheaters and modern mechanical systems. These improvements provide advanced support the University’s forward-thinking curriculum. The addition’s concave façade embraces the campus’s central plaza, while its skeletal sunshade frames symbolize the University’s academic mission.
Founded in 1935, Logan University is committed to shaping the health leaders of tomorrow by blending world-class faculty, hands-on learning, and a dynamic campus environment. A cornerstone of the University’s flagship Doctor of Chiropractic program is its emphasis on learning human anatomy through dissection. As the first phase of the campus master plan, the renovation and expansion were carefully phased by Cordogan Clark to ensure the existing anatomy lab remained operational, preserving this critical experiential component for students.
The expanded facility consolidates chiropractic technique learning spaces, featuring state-of-the-art technology, including a simulation lab with an Anatomage Table. This advanced 3D anatomical simulation tool is utilized by leading healthcare institutions worldwide. Additional enhancements include new faculty offices, collaborative student spaces, and study areas, complemented by a food and coffee bar. Adjacent to the coffee bar, a specialized exhibit honors the University’s history and the contributions of Dr. Arlan Fuhr, the distinguished alumnus for whom the building is named.
