3,000 sqft. two story single family residence located in a mountain town nestled between the ski resorts of Vail and Breckenridge in Colorado. The home was to be used as a vacation house and per zoning was required to meet specific requirements regarding massing and material finishes consistent with a small mountain town aesthetic. The design takes these restrictions and organizes them into a contemporary assemblance anchored by an elliptical steel stair. Guest bedrooms with ensuite bathrooms located on the first floor have views out to the creek which runs along the back of the property, the second floor master suite is separated from the open living and dining and kitchen areas located under a tilted roof plans directing internal view to the surrounding mountain peaks.
