Fraser’s Broadway also known as Central Park, Sydney is a mixed use development funded by the developers Frasers Property on a previously industrial site just outside Sydney’s Business Centre near the main station. The scheme consists of two towers, One Central Park, by Ateliers Jean Nouvel that form the centre piece of a masterplan that includes offices by Foster+Partners and an urban park. The facades of the two towers, one tall (apartments) and, one small (service apartments) employ the unique Mur Vegetale system first developed by the Botanist Patrick Blanc and will consequently be completely overgrown with vegetation the entire height of the buildings.A system of plants and creepers native to Australia combined with steel cables will be used to create the composition of the elevations. It is intended that the building will be a symbol for sustainable high rise living.
