Framing Form
I visited the Danish Maritime Museum right after its opening. On my initial walk though the site, the volumes of the glass and steel bridges inside the space of the dry dock and the Museum's angular geometry made a strong impression on me.
While photographing the Museum, I attempted to capture an image of this architecture as I saw it, rather than make a literal and generic documentation of the building. Using precise compositions, these photographs reflect the architecture in the two dimensions of the photographic frame; they are bold but also restrained. I feel that they better convey the experience of standing inside the dock and walking through the Museum.
