Frame House

Tainan City, Taiwan

STATUS
Concept
SIZE
5000 sqft - 10,000 sqft
Situated on a narrow lot mid-block on a major thoroughfare in Tainan City, the Frame House explores ways in which architectural forms and materials express and reveal the different aspects of living for a family of four. Urbanistically, the house is articulated as two stacked volumes. The first 3 floors containing the social living areas are grounded by a solid unified deep facade. Floating above the lower podium is a large open frame containing bedrooms and garden terraces that open up the internal life of the house to the street and views above the city.
