The main objective for the "Forest Hill" project is to provide a solution to a complex, multi-dimensional design question: How can urban living enhance the natural contextual qualities of North Vancouver while maximizing economical, environmental, aesthetic, and public benefits?
The United Nations is calling for cities around the world to consider enhancing "urban forestry" as global urbanization continues to grow in the coming decade.
The parametric form is generated based on maximizing the quality views towards downtown Vancouver while minimizing shading on the public plaza in front of the North Vancouver Public Library to the west. The result is an optimized solution that also provides multiple garden terraces for every unit. This form also allows the residential tower to the East to retain most of its views towards the West.
This Project will have a partner AIBC registered architect if to be moving forward.
