Driven by the aspiration to achieve the materialization of immaterial, to render perceptible the intangible, this generative architectural manifestation grapples with the fundamental question of how finite human consciousness can apprehend the infinite and ethereal. Transcending mere shelter, Fons Aeternae strives to become a spatial expression of transcendence itself.
Drawing inspiration from Neo-Platonic emanation, Fons Aeternae posits existence as a perpetual outflow from a singular, radiant source. Its structures embodying this principle of emanation, suggest both origin and return through the endless play of light. This echoes the concept of Tecum principium – "with you is the beginning" – establishing a spatial encounter where finitude and infinity are simultaneously present.
The architectural pursuit centers on crafting spaces that resonate with the essence of light, embodying its inherent qualities: purity, clarity, and transformative power. Light, in its very essence, is both immaterial and foundational. Intangible yet visually definitive, it shapes our perception of reality. To materialize light is to capture its ephemeral spirit, granting it physical presence without compromising its inherent transcendence. This finds a historical echo in the ancient Egyptian obelisks.
