Headquarter
for the Foundation Nicolas Hulot for Nature and Humankind, state-approved NGO
dedicated to the education to the environment, is situated in Boulogne-Billancourt
in Paris region.
The
initiative for this project consisted in finding the best solution in terms of
functioning, image and environmental quality with a moderate budget. Besides,
on the occasion of this move which also translates the growth of the activity
of the Foundation, it was a question of asserting a strong identity conveying
its values.
The
organization of spaces also translates the search for a collaborative working
dynamics and for a flexibility of use of spaces and work.
Widely lit open-space
get organized naturally around a central block including the functions of
service, dressed in a plant wall realized by the botanist Patrick Blanc.
Grounds, ceiling, the lighting as well as the partition were resumed to satisfy
the needs of the Foundation.
It was
chosen to use natural or raw materials diverted for all the services: all the
furniture, drawn to measure, is realized in plywood of spruce used usually for casting
concrete while ceilings are realized in wood fiber agglomerated with cement for
the acoustics. Grounds are in natural linoleum. The cafeteria is in panels of
recycled bricks of milk.
