Conscious surface, occurred in 14th Feb. 2009, is
the second stage presentation of a three stage experimental form finding by “AEW, the Art of Engineering Workshop”, now upgraded to “I.A. Intelligent systems & Architecture engineering center”. In this exhibition many exciting and yet stable and load-bearing forms is simply generated via a single folded cardboard surface.
The Dome: the big card board dome is only an example of the many possibilities of the folded forms- “the conscious surface”. With 5.5 meter diameter, the dome is made up of 5*16=80 pieces of folded cardboards temporarily held together by means of paper clips. It can get assembled through 2 hours and disassembled in about 6 minutes.
