This office flat can be divided into three major areas - a working zone, a meeting room as well as a multi-functional resting area.
Owing to space limitation, the client requests that the design must maximize the use of all available space. Moreover, the client himself is self-innovative, and demands a radical and groundbreaking design.
The designer combines the client’s brief with his own design notion; that is, bringing architectural concept into interior design and finally come up with using geometry and 3-dimensional shapes as the theme.
Under this strategy, the art of paper folding or origami is adopted to create distortion inside normal space, while at the same time, using reflection to elongate the distorted space, reinforcing the extraordinary visual effect.
The design of every area follows this intended design notion and aims at fulfilling the client’s wish. The meeting room is positioned near the entrance for convenience and its walls also utilize the folding concept to fit with the theme.
The multi-functional resting area is positioned on a raised platform with hidden storage beneath to maximize all usable space. There is a cabinet inside with a clear-glass gliding door, which helps enhance the overall spaciousness through reflections.
The focus comes to the distorted wall in the middle of the flat going through the meeting room and the resting area which adds coherence to the design. This whole masterpiece not only carries a high level of creativity by bringing life-size origami into the design, but it also brings out an exceptional sense of modernism.
