Concept

FLEX HAUS is a residential / entertainment platform with a 180 degree window over the Mediterranean Sea. The project is hosted on a steep slope and is part of a gated community of residential villas. Mindful of the client’s demand for a programmatic flexibility to host different events of various scales, a flexible grid was developed as the design guideline and engine to enable this request. The grid adapts to different functions such as circulation, landscaping, indoor space, as well as outdoor terraces and various activity spaces. This open and diverse functionality blurs the boundaries of indoor and outdoor spaces, and relaxes the transition between public and private activities taking place on the platform. The house is designed to cater for a comfortable family living as well as event spaces for various occasions (gathering up to 1000 people), yet emphasizing at all times the mind-blowing panoramic views offered by the site.
