Just as the post-war mall that preceded it was the catalyst for the growth of the “garden city” neighbourhood, the Shops at Don Mills is contributing to a renewal of the Don Mills area. Flaire Condominiums is the third of seven condo developments to join this unique urban village. It is ‘60s retro-inspired with two 11-storey towers anchored by a four-storey podium which respond to the continuation of the massing of the retail shops to the east. The signature wraparound balconies resemble undulating ribbons of glass and concrete. The near-continuous balconies were sculpted in three dimensions, giving an ebb and flow to the building shape.
