YEAR
2014
SIZE
25,000 sqft - 100,000 sqft
This project included interior renovations of about 90% of this 100,000 SF facility which houses many of FirstMerit's operational departments that serve the entire company. Originally completed in 1990, the building had received no major upgrades during its 20+ years and due to outdated finishes and light fixtures, the interior felt languid and dark. Following unprecedented growth for this expanding bank, the need for additional staffing and a driving culture shift helped shape the design solution which was to feel innovative and energetic. This was accomplished by removing walls to create larger and more open work areas, re-organizing haphazard workstation layouts, defining circulation patterns through ceiling and flooring treatments, and updating all the finishes, furniture and light fixtures to provide a more colorful and animated work environment.
