FINITY is a Flower-Infinity design concept applied to the Lobby of Medco Energy, a company that focuses on exploration and producing oil and gas which is located in Gedung Ratu Prabu, South Jakarta. The meant flower is the concept of applying Batik as Indonesian Local Identity in this office Lounge. Although Medco Energi has many exploration locations abroad and domestically, but Medco Energi is a native Indonesian company that has its own pride for its nation. Starting from there, we have a design idea that brings a strong locality spirit in it.
We also explore design ideas through the company's vision, mission, and corporate values, which we literally applied into interior design elements and the space function inside. The values ??are Professional, Ethical, Open, and Innovative.
PROFESSIONAL. We implemented it by using the award LCD display and computer bar elements. The LCD display award in the main lobby represents the value of 'champion spirit', has professional ability and knows the achievements that have been realized. The computer bar represents the value of continually striving to improve one's abilities in the era of digital globalization.
ETHIC. We implemented it by presenting a historical walk in the design, which is intended as the implementation of company ethical standards and well corporate governance policies. As well as informing the company's moral integrity and also the history of the company through an attractive display.
OPEN. We applied transparent batik partitions to create an informal atmosphere and openness in communication at all levels, but still maintain privacy in some parts of the room. We also provide open space in the lounge area like collaborative lounge, personal lounge, coffee lounge, and lobby that are still integrated without solid walls but still keep the privacy.
INNOVATION. We applied innovation on the ceiling. The ceiling in the lobby is made innovative by using batik elements combined with mirrors so it makes the ceiling like floating or having a depth space. In the lounge area, we also innovate by making furniture design that can be adjusted into a circle when forming a discussion group. Therefore, we still have more private space and can spread out when it will be used if there is a presentation. In addition, we also consider the material selection to maintain its locality impression. A lot of wood material make the atmosphere of locality feel very thick, supported by elements of batik floor tiles, batik partition walls, and batik-patterned ceilings.
All these elements are combined with a brownish color scheme which keeps the formal atmosphere but there is still a warmth that unites everything
