The filter house was designed around a very small tightly contextual plot of land sandwiched between to existing properties in Stroud, Gloucester.The response required a careful selection of materials as local materials had to be adhered to. The boundary walls suggesting the limits in height for the main roof that sails over the glass screens below in delicately detailed zinc with timber structure beneath. Inside the space is a small kitchen shrouded with light from the square hole punched into the roof above. An access door leads through to a separate living space in the adjoining house.
