Three step design process: concept development through research, drawing and modeling, leading to "vision statement" for a film archive; mapping exercise - analysis of site forces (I chose to map transparency networks, visual magnetism, and people catchers); then development of actual building with program film preservation, restoration, and storage; library; film view spaces/galleries, and lobby. Challenging narrow corner urban site/addition to existing museum; making very closed activity of film preservation somehow accessible to the public; most complex program I have worked on to date.
