Full Apartment Renovation - After some quick layout analysis we realized we can expand the pre-war 3 fixture master bathroom(within the building wet over dry rules) to a luxurious 5 fixture bathroom, including a double sink, toilet, soaking tub, and walk-in shower. We were also able to eliminate some unnecessary circulation space to create a large walk-in closet and at the same time clearly defining the dining room from the living room. The owner wanted a mix of traditional and modern elements, keeping with classic New York style, but at the same time, staying up to date with luxury and his own sensibilities. We used Brazilian Walnut with a walnut stain and a wenge inlay border. The base, crown molding, and an applied molding all say traditional but are treated with a modern stepped profile. Although we used high-end, modern appliances, the deep profile of the cabinet doors and the matching quartz countertop and backsplash bring the kitchen more towards traditional.
