This design for a single family home in rural Tildonk has grown from a perception from the inside out. We were looking at the different rooms in a house to be experienced differently. The irregular shapes of the rooms seem alienating to impress, but in everyday use the flow is very natural. In combination with a careful choice of openings in the facade the rooms create a focused contact with the natural landscape. The area is framed in that one window in the facade. The use of an irregular pattern on the facade paneling, accented the windows and the concrete base around the house to translate the irregular character of the interior to the environment.Visitors do not know that behind these irregular shapes is actually a simple, low-energy building lies.Without compromises in terms of design this house scored E20 K30.
