Félix House is built in a plot that offers excellent views towards a lake in the back, but the best sun orientation is in the front. In order to solve this, we designed a series of patios that provide the main spaces with natural lighting. This way, we achieve a house with bright interiors and optimal views.
In the back façade, there is a large gallery with a patio that works as a connector between the interior and the exterior. All the ground floor is covered with light oak panels on the walls, a noble and warm material. A metal staircase with wood steps links the ground floor with the upper floor in a sculptural way. Simple and contemporary furniture complements the architecture of the house. In this level, there’s also a guest room that takes advantage of the views towards the lake. When it is empty, it turns into a comfortable TV room.
The kitchen has an island that works as a breakfast area and expands towards a small integrated playroom, so that the family can keep an eye on their children while they are cooking. In addition, there is a series of sliding wooden panels that are designed to integrate or separate the kitchen from the living room, depending on their needs.
The first-floor program includes two bedrooms and one master suite. All of them, and also the bathrooms, have prime views of the lake. The bathrooms enjoy these vistas without losing privacy, thanks to a brise-soleil system in front of the windows. The hallway has a big skylight that floods the room with natural lighting.
All of the materials used in the building are noble and designed to last. Some of these are exposed concrete for the walls and structure, anodized aluminum windows, natural wood, porcelain tiles and full LED lighting to provide a sustainable and low maintenance house.
