The aim of the study is to
identify, collate and classify the plans and projects of both national and
regional interest for the city of Trieste, with particular reference to the
infrastructures (roads, railways) and the Grand Projects.
More specifically, it was
necessary to prepare a summary of the projects, already financed and/or to be
financed (Target Law, PRUSST [Program for Urban Restoration and Sustainable
Development], STU, ?.) of national, regional and interregional interest,
concerning infrastructures and Grand Projects. In particular, plans concerning
the development of the city in view of its candidature for Expo 2008 were
verified.
The work studied time,
costs and feasibility of the works, following a time scale which took into
account, as far as possible, the expected times needed to draw up the plans on their different
scales and phases (preliminary, definitive and executive), their approval, financing
and subsequent execution.
During the drafting of the
study numerous meetings were held with the main representatives (from Public
Administration to promoters and/or the designers of the projects) to check
thoroughly what was being processed.
The study, which shows a
sufficiently complete picture of the existing and future plans for the
metropolitan area of Trieste, is made up of printouts of analyses and plans,
which have been divided into categories of work according to successive time
scales; they show the current situation and preview the city of Trieste and its
metropolitan area in 2008 (the date of Expo), in 2013 and in 2025.
Feasibility study for new project lines and strategic program regarding
the infrastructural lay?out of the metropolitan area of Trieste.
