The ambition of Fauve Paris is to dust away the image of the auction house which is deeply anchored in
French culture as a red velvet mansion for old collectors.
Fauve Paris is designed as a unique and flexible
space capable of switching from exhibition space to auction room.
To gather a new generation of patrons
and enthusiasts Fauve Paris combines a wine bar, L'Abreuvoir, directly connected to the exhibition space.
The display system is inspired by the efficiency of the museum storage facilities and the dry cleaning
automated racks. Hanged to a rail, 20 gridded cage slide along the exhibition space in order to provide the
best set-up for a given thematic auction sale exhibition.
Each display element turns 360°. Steel elements
can be adjusted on the grid to support shelves, clothes hangers, art-pieces, …
When comes the auction sale all the display elements are stacked together at one end of the rail releasing a vacant space hosting 60 seats facing the auctioneer desk.
Integrated and mobile display cabinets protect the most fragile pieces exhibited.
L’Abreuvoir follows the visual identity of the auction house with a gridded cable run and a hanged high bar
table pierced through a steel cage.
The oak tables integrate the trays used to serve the food menu while a large oak library gives a warm
atmosphere to the wine bar.
