Moiré, an installation inspired by a 1995 Exhibition @ MoMA entitled "Mutant Materials in Contemporary Design".
The fabric mesh commonly used in Construction Barricades is decontextualized and takes on a new life & meaning within the confines of an Avant-Garde Fashion Shop. The layering of several different material weaves creates a Moiré effect and the illusion of undulating movement. Colored gels applied to the overhead fluorescent lights complement and amplify the wall effect.
