FARMS FOR FEASTS
Architectural Intervention Driven By Performance
In response to intensifying issues of climate change and food scarcity, FARMS FOR FEASTS is a net-zero development where emergent technologies in urban agriculture and farming are housed in one location. This development envisions to introduce the future of innovative farming.
Situated in Bonifacio Global City in Taguig, FARMS FOR FEASTS is composed of an urban farming structure, an Energy Plaza, and areas for solar energy harvesting. The main structure, called the Farm Pavilion, is a two-storey volume enveloped by a bespoke elliptical dome – a curvilinear gesture derived from the silhouette of the farmer.
The introduction of a dome structure maximizes daylight harvesting for the produce inside – organized within a collection of massive A-Frame structures that ensure optimum cultivation of the plants. The lower level contains a multi-purpose venue for farming exhibits and dialogues, as well as the carefully organized storage and production facilities for the Pavilion.
It is to be understood that in the foreseeable future, we can all be urban farmers.
