The architectural intervention in the outdoor areas of the event farmhouse is based on enhancing the existing built heritage through the introduction of contemporary elements that qualify the user experience and reinforce the site’s identity. The project establishes a dialogue between the traditional materiality of the stone construction and the insertion of illuminated sculptural structures, designed to respond simultaneously to functional and aesthetic requirements.
The central design element consists of canopy-like structures of organic inspiration, developed from circular metallic bases that expand into inverted conical forms resembling tree canopies. These structures provide shaded areas and, during nighttime, operate as ambient lighting devices. The integration of linear LED systems into both the vertical and radial components allows for a nocturnal reading defined by a theatrical atmosphere, where warm light highlights the stone texture and the scale of the outdoor space.
In articulation with these canopies, the project introduces rectangular luminous frames that define and hierarchize pedestrian paths and entrances. Beyond their guiding function, these elements configure a system of visual frames that sequence the spatial experience, creating different layers of perception and emphasizing the sense of arrival and circulation.
The material strategy prioritizes continuity with the pre-existence: the stone paving preserves the rural and authentic character of the farmhouse, while the new metallic and textile elements introduce a contemporary contrast without compromising the overall coherence. The incorporation of large planters at the base of the structures contributes to landscape integration, promoting the relationship between architecture and vegetation.
Conceptually, the intervention is defined by the duality between tradition and modernity. Architectural lighting here is employed not only as a functional resource but primarily as a tool for heritage enhancement and visual identity construction.
Thus, the proposal goes beyond the notion of simple redevelopment, positioning itself as a spatial redesign operation. Through the synthesis of sculptural form, lighting technology, and landscape integration, the farmhouse’s outdoor areas are transformed into versatile and memorable settings, capable of accommodating different event typologies within a distinctive and qualified environment.
