Farmhouse
STATUS
Under Construction
ORE was hired by GrowNYC (New York City’s longest running sustainability focused Non-Profit) to design Farmhouse. Farmhouse is a space that will bring GrowNYC’s far-reaching programs ranging from their numerous fresh food markets, recycling resource locations, local garden support, and the education of 30,000 children each year on meaningful interactions with the natural environment, under one “brick and mortar” roof for the first time.
Located next to GrowNYC’s largest Greenmarket at Union Square, Farmhouse is a venue where New Yorkers will be able to get up close to their food to learn where it comes from and to learn how to use the unique, fresh ingredients available through GrowNYC’s programs. Farmhouse is designed to function as a classroom, a demonstration kitchen, a conference center, and a dining venue. Keeping with GrowNYC’s mission, ORE designed with using recycled materials and energy-saving water-conserving technology.
